The Hart Technique Manifesto

We as educators need to inspire new, widespread change. We need to teach our students how to survive and thrive from their own creativity and sweat. We need to throw our respective cookie cutters away and inspire our students to discover their potential to be independent, visionary leaders (of themselves and others). When arts technique is coupled with basic business skill and entrepreneurial training and students are taught to be heroic by choice, you get an artist who knows how to make a living from their skill set and will do good in the process.

Jim Hart is The Director of Arts Entrepreneurship at SMU and the founder of The International Theatre Academy Norway.
